Oxygen Therapy

Oxygen TherapyOxygen therapy helps millions of Americans who suffer from COPD, asthma, and other lung diseases. In East Tennessee where such diseases are higher than the national average, it is important that people have access to professional providers who can help them to have a higher quality of life and control, manage, and delay the progression of the disease.

Lambert’s provides a variety of stationary and portable oxygen therapy systems to patients and closely monitors compliance to ensure that they get the maximum benefit from the prescribed treatment. Most patients are prescribed low flow oxygen, which enables them to breath easier and feel better. To ensure that you, as a patient, receive the most appropriate type of home stationary and lightweight portable system, Lambert’s staff takes into consideration your condition and activity level. In coordination with the patient’s supervising physician, Pulse Oximetry units are sold at Lambert’s to help patients monitor their oxygen concentration levels at home or on the go.

Sleep Care

Sleep CareSleeping disorders are a growing problem among Americans and affect every age group. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders & Stroke, “at least 40 million Americans each year suffer from chronic, long-term sleep disorders each year, and an additional 20 million experience occasional sleeping problems”. Sleep Apnea, one of the most common sleep disorders, affects nearly 18 million Americans; however, many have yet to see their doctor and get assistance. Air quality problems in the East Tennessee Valley can also contribute to respiratory and sleeping issues.

“Insufficient sleep has been linked to the development and management of a number of chronic diseases and conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease (hypertension, stroke, coronary heart disease, etc…), obesity, and depression.” —Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Lambert’s provides a wide variety of the latest models of CPAP and BiPAP equipment, masks, and supplies from the nations leading manufacturers including ResMed, Respironics, Fisher & Paykel, and Puritan Bennett. As a Lambert’s patient, your personal respiratory therapist will work with you to select the face mask/nasal pillow and accessories to insure a “best fit” product for your facial features. Additionally, you will be provided extensive training and follow up by Lambert’s respiratory therapists in coordination with your physician and sleep center. Nocturnal Pulse Oximetry studies are available for qualified patients; call Lambert’s Respiratory Department for details at (865) 686-3650.

Nebulizers (aerosol therapy)

NebulizersFor acute temporary lung conditions as well as long-term chronic lung disease, the nebulizer turns respiratory medications into small aerosol particles, which are inhaled by the patient through a mouthpiece or mask to open the bronchial airways of the lung providing immediate breathing relief. Nebulized aerosol therapy is a very common treatment for children suffering from asthma as well as for adults with COPD (emphysema, chronic bronchitis, asthma), pneumonia, and other similar lung conditions.

Lambert’s provides nebulizers to adults and children alike and provides individual one-on-one instructions for use, cleaning, and maintenance of the equipment and supplies. Depending on your insurance, Lambert’s also coordinates with unit dose pharmacies to assist you in accessing the prescribed solution at the proper dosage to be used with the nebulizer.
